Re: What have you done to your mk4 (golf/bora) today?
Gonna have to lift my game to catch up to some of you guys. I Went to VW and ordered a 4mo valence today. Wondering if it would be worth taking the bumper off to fit it or to just lift the car? I'll have to look up a diy. Gonna have to get to the bumper for grill and headlight work soon anyway!! Decisions decisions...

I took mine off from memory. But similar to you, I was installing headlights or something at the same time. So it was off anyway.
When I tried to fit a golf one back in the day I did it on the car, but car was stock height then

You don't need to do either - for the valance it's held in by 2 screws (bottom of wheel arch, back of bumper, one on each side) and clips on the valance itself.
New valances clip in quite easy.
Haha thanks mate. Valance looks great, adds a nice bit of aggression to the front end. Do you keep your bonnet bra on permanently? Apparently when water gets in there it can wreck the paint, they look good though.

Cheers, yeah I do keep it on there all the time. The paint was in awful condition before I put it in, massive scratch across the very front and some bad water spots. There is one spot where the paint has become a little light from having the bra on but plans involve a boser/badge less grill so it ain't no thang.
Also, if anyone is after a stock valence in average condition (no broken bits just a bit scratch/dented/warped) for free, let me know. Not willing to post obviously.
