LOL! Well I find the Xtreme's great, nothing like HID's of course but still pretty decent.

You can bet your hairy butt I will! Putting HIDs in reflectors is just wrong, wrong wrong!

Back on topic, picked my car up from the workshop after the work was done to fix the damage caused on the M5. Also finally had my Competition Haldex Controller installed - learning the realities of that now, it's all good so far, with just the caveats I was expecting (tight turns at low speeds causing the ESP light to flash, etc). The car certainly feels more sure-footed though!

Replaced my A/C compressor yesterday in preparation for summer as the old one was starting to make a not so nice whirring sound! Got one brand new for $230 out of the UK, Bargin just needed to rewire my old plug onto the new compressor.

Also received my R32 brakes and put in an order from ECS to freshen up the suspension of the car. My front LCA bushings are completely completely shot!

Rob do you care to elaborate why ESP flashes on low speed turns with the comp haldex controller and what the other caveats are? I'm considering one sometime in the not too distant future and would like to know what i'm in for!

got the new RHD downpipe put in, and got the 2.5" catback replaced with 2" 1/4 piping back to the stock muffler (no res).
sooo quiet, like an electric car haha. quite novel.
makes you wonder what the point of the stock resonator is

Basically, the ESP system works by detecting a difference in wheel speeds via the ABS sensors. With the competition controller, the rear is powered (diff engaged) a lot more often (with the standard and blue controllers, it's only powered when you're on the throttle), and so the rears effectively free-wheel at whatever speed is necessary. But the competition controller keeps the rear diff engaged, meaning that the rear wheels are attached to the drivetrain.

When you turn sharply, the inside wheel at the rear has to travel less distance than the outside rear - normally giving a speed differential between the wheels. But because the rear diff is engaged, the wheels aren't free, and there's resistance to them moving at different speeds, and this has an impact on the drivetrain, causing what's often called "crabbing". This in turn triggers the ESP system, which cuts power.

The simple solution to the ESP issue is to disable ESP when parking or doing U-turns. You'll still get a bit of crabbing, but it's not terrible, and at least with the ESP disabled you won't lose all engine power.

I have found Tempe is the place for Khumo's... they must be keeping the Khumo empire afloat going by the amount they shift in time I was there. I scored a set of 225/45/17 for the Bora for 150 each, and before anyone starts the whole "tyre age" discussion, those tyres I got were build stamped approx 6 weeks before purchased. Like I said, they shift enough stock to turn over regularly.
