New tyres and an alignment on the Bora yesterday.

205/55/16 Falken ZE912 Good value at $145 ea.

I wasn't after anything exotic, I don't drive the Bora hard enough to justify dearer tyres, main use is towing and commuting.

It'll be interesting to see how these go compared to the Michelins that were on it.

I have those tyres on both sets of wheels I have (std 16s and new 17s) and I find them pretty good value for money, with good wet handling characteristics too.

learnt that if i rev it in neutral (or clutch in), and then wait a moment, and then push back on the throttle quickly, i get a nice big black cloud of smoke (with associated backfire sound)
stinks sooo bad!

could come in handy when there are pesky tailgators or cars behind with annoying lights! hehe

best bit was i learnt this while i was driving in front of a work mate. at one stage i was able to get three successive back fires just with three quick taps of the throttle. soooo much smoke and probably the worst car smell i've ever smelt

now you gotta try doing it on gear changes too great fun!! lol

Got a mate looking at the head unit wiring so I can scan the ECU, then will continue the testing.
Really want to either get it working or get a refund so I can try somewhere else.
