  • AGU me3.8 tune

    Hey all,

Just wondering if anyone in Australia (preferably in/around Brisbane) still tunes the AGU me3.8 in a mk4 golf gti.
Currently running a 3' downpipe w/ high-flow cat and 3' catback both custom from Rob Bliss Exhausts (Geebung).
Also have a Ramair Intake pod filter.

Thanks in advance for any help

    Hey mate,

I'd also like to know if anyone is still tuning these ECUs/ECMs.

I've also got an AGU, 1.8t. I have since added a full exhaust (3" DP, to 2.5" Cat-Back), and an FMIC.

One ECU has an APR Stage 1 tune on it, and that's ok (much better than stock), (which I believe only official APR software can interact with?).

And I have another stock 3.8.3 ECU spare, which I'd be interested in getting a Stage 2 tune for.

I used to be in Sydney, now in Newcastle, but head back down there now and then, and up to Coffs Harbour a couple of times a year too.

Also keen to hear any news.
Dark Grey Mk4 Golf, 1.8T GTI conversion, APR stage 1, stock air intake, FMIC, 3" to 2.5" Exhaust, FK AK Street Coils, Black 18" (Avant Garde M310's ?), tinted tails, ...

Not sure if she still does any tuning of these ECU's, but Gavin used to be the go-to guy for the 1.8T tuning. He used to be a dealer for Custom Code based in Brisbane, then went to work for Underground Performance in Melbourne, and more recently has opened his own shop called TTY Euro, also in Melbourne.

Like I said, no idea if he still does tuning on these ECU's, but it might be worth asking him.

Alright chaps, I'm out of the ME3.8 game these days.

I believe that Ed at Quattro motorsports does them and possibly Laborde Tuning. Pretty much your only choices.

You both should note that fitting downpipes/exhausts/intercoolers doesn't do much for the AGU engine as the restriction for making power is the turbo. I would recommend speaking to the tuner and seeing if they will tune a K03s, as that will be a vast improvement over the K03.

The K03 tops out below 200 crank hp. Where the K03s will go 10% over that usually. I have seen 150KWatw on some stage 2 Polos
