Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Just clocked over 73000km on the GTI

It's years since I've posted on the forum, hi to my old friends here from years ago, I thought I'd post a pic as an update.
The GTI is still going strong and actually just clocked 73000km during a run to Malua Bay.

Thanks mate, my brother took the pic on the weekend and sent it to me, we were just heading back home from a great day at Mogo Zoo. I thought I should post the pic on the forum, since it's been so long.

Hey Snowy, your car looks as nice as it did many years ago, and now we know why. YOU DON'T DRIVE IT.

            73,000km - that is about 4,000km / year average.

Body kits sets it off nicely.

Thanks mate, yeah it hasn't been my daily driver so I've kept a lot of KM's off it. I remember getting that body kit in about 2006 when the car was about 18 months old, it's a Genuine VW 25th Anniversary kit, could not get one in Oz and I had to import it, I can't recall the cost exactly, but with painting and fitting added on it would have been more than an entire MK4 is even worth these days I'd guess. Crazy.

G'day mate, great to hear you still have your MK4 and she is still going. Come to think of it I realised today that I just don't see many MK4's out and about on the road at all now, far and few between, it seems.
