Talk of another I didn't have on the list. Dark blue petrol in qld. Might be in double figures soon!
Fixed the position of the rear passenger door lock.
Fixed the rear drivers door lock (turns out it's been unplugged for the last 3 or so years...) Iv been chasing wires everywhere else but right at the end.
New thermostat and temp sensor in. Looks like the one in there was orginal so hopefully that helps bring the fuel economy down further.
New engine mounts on the way.
Currently rocking a pair of re003 and Bbs up front as the Bob Jane and linglongs on there were too sketchy even with new tread.
Downside of having some grip is I think I have found the clutch is slipping when it gets a good wack of Turbo on 2nd and 3rd gear.
So stage 1 of the air install is underway
Twin 444 compressors
3gal tank
3/8 lines
Elevel valve block
All hidden under the floor with spare wheel and space for tools.
Ghetto'd up a gauge holder until the sensors go in
First set of wheels have been pulled out of storage. Here's a hint
Management all in and working. Had a hiccup with the valve block not responding, took a while to find the problem. Turns out I didn't connect the hand brake trigger wire correctly.
Started the scary process of pulling out the stock suspension. One side came out easy. The other side gave me some grief with bolts snapping and damaged nuts from the UK corrosion.
This pushed me to swap everything rather than just struts.
Idf arms in
Tt spindles in
Tie rod flip and mirror done (one was so rusted it needs replacing)
312mm brakes going on the front until my 334mm r32 caliper comes back from repairs.
Even the abs/speed sensors were rusted in place so these will be getting pulled from my old bora tomorrow along with a few other nuts and bolts
Rear beam from the bora going in along with idf drop plates. 232 to 256 vented upgrade it the same time
Hel performance brake lines all round
Seem to have misplaced my eibach sway bars so the hunt for them is on so I can throw them in at the same time
So last minute change up.
Didn't have anyone free to help lift the beam in, so stock brakes and beam for now. I'll throw it in when I do the 32 fronts and give the brake system a full flush.
Fronts 312mm for now. Stock sway bar also retained.
Still need to get the abs/speed sensors out of the bora and out the interior back together. So far no leaks but will leave aired up over night for the first test.
Lots of work to get the front down where I want it
