Does anyone have the mk4 rear axle bush installation tool?
I'm about to do my rear bushes. If anyone has the installation tool and would like to lend or sell it, flick me a PM. Cheers
Hey mate, I had good success on my Bora with one of these: http://r.ebay.com/kOXyON
$22 (free postage) and took two days (inc processing) to get to me (sydney to melbourne).
Ignore the 'removal' bit in the title i.e. - the tool can't really remove the old bushing (oil-filled with metal sleeve). I had a piece of scrap tube and a 2" (or thereabouts?) socket from work that I used (also with the thread and nuts from the $20 tool) for removing the old one. I had a look at this guide as a starting point but ultimately just did what the manual said and did it in-situ just dropping one side at a time (and no hacksawing of the old one etc).
Awesome, thanks for that. I hadn't seen those particular tools on eBay, just the ones from the UK which are about $90 delivered. I have the Seat Leon Cupra R semi-solid bushes, hopefully the tool works the same with them.
