There was a thread on vortex about the guys in the US running boost and how much they could only run off a stock ECU and it was like 6-7psi have a look its somewhere in the mk3 forum I think.

one thread VS several thousand people running +6psi C2 and related software, c'mon the only limit is the limit of the components and the setup, just like running more 7 psi without a decent intercooler is not particularly clever. Sounds more like he butchered his loom more than anything, and besides how can a the machine code changed on the ECU chip cause overheating, overloading and the eventual destruction of the whole ECU? He quite clearly did the soldering himself on that board and missed a few legs on the chip housing trying to save a few bucks on what is a rather delicate job. Thats preposterous, I'm sorry... Don't believe everything you see on the Tex'. Keep in mind there are people like me and you posting on it as well, and that doesn't inspire confidence in the site now does it

Back on track here, you are unfortunately most likely having to go standalone or piggy back ecu if you want to 'blow your VR. I suggest tackling the most difficult problem first and sorting out your computer, everything else is pretty much off the shelf, with the exception of the down-pipe.

thanks guys! look forward to chattin to you guys in future...

i think right now i gotta take care of my suspension, id be crazy to not fix that first...

i think it was a bad idea from the beginning to buy 18"s without getting a pair of coils.

Moral of the story, dont buy rims without fixing the suspension... any one know where i can get some cheap coilovers??

Haha granted, yet I have heard this from a few mechanics here aswell over the last month that I have enquired about forced induction.

If your wheels are scraping they are probably the wrong offset and changing to coil overs may not be the answer.

I have a supercharged vr6. I thought you guys would have more in Oz?

Mine is supposed to be running 8psi boost but the dyno said other wise.

18's?? .... thats why they are scraping. IMO the wheels are too big mate. 16's would have been better with the right offset.

should be interesting mate which ever route you choose.

I would have to say that im in favour of the supercharger. I have no technical reasons why, just that, for example, stage one VF supercharger seems to be so simple with the bolt on and play approach. And what seems to be a sensible induction system for the engine.

I have been looking into a stage one setup for a little while now. Just eyeing if off debating whether i want to actually supercharge or a new car.

Anyways, your VR looks good dude. I like what your doing to it.

                            cheers
