  • OEM cup holders

ive seen some pictures of some mk3's in the states with a moulded pair of cupholders where we have a little storage hole infront of the gear stick.

does anyone know if they are made aftermarket? or if they are available over here?
nothing worse then a car without cup holders, no way to carry the Boags draughts spillage free.

I found them (VW OEM part) on ebay coming out of the UK. They were designed for left-hand drive VR6s in US. The ebay store that was selling them indicated that they could be modified to be fitted to a right-hand drive Golf Mk3. I will see if I can find the link for you tonight.

I managed to find it again quickly, so here you go:

VW MK3 Golf Jetta Vento Cupholder 1993 1999 | eBay

This one coming out of the US and much cheaper than what the UK seller was asking for it (it was over $100 + shipping).

They have a curve to them depending if you get LHD or RHD. You must mod them to make them fit, mine didn't fit and it was LHD. Ended up chopping a hole in the centre console and glueing it in. Lots of work, but hey, cup holders.

If you have a close look at your centre console (sit in the centre of the rear seat and have a good close look) you will see that part of the centre console infront of the gearshift has a subtle curve to right to favour the driver accessing anything stowed in that area. I assume the left-hand drive version has the mirror opposite curve to the left.
