Finally got my hands on a new PCV valve and intake boot. I hope that i don't need to ever purchase another one again as the PCV/intake boot which can only be purchased new as a whole unit is now a discontinued part for the earlier VR6 with the port at the back that has a hose which runs to the ISV. The later VR6 PCV/intake boots are still in circulation FYI.
Fuaaark you whoever came up with the idea of selling it as a whole unit (insert the middle finger) lol
New vs Old
Ahhhh now thats more like it

With the VR6 passing its blue slip inspection it was time to get her registered in NSW. Was able to pop into Service NSW on Sat and after handing over nearly $1300 for the ctp, 12months rego and the slim line plates she officially belongs to me
Im considering getting some euro plates for it and i know what i want on them i just cant decide if i want the white n blue or the black n gold

Since owning the car on a couple of occasions ive had an issue on start up where it cranking but wont fire up. I have noticed it only has done it when the car has been driven and its up to temp . On a cold start she fires up no drama and on most warm starts its fine but its happened at least 3 times since ive had it. It will crank but if i dont hit the gas it will crank for a while cough and splutter and then come to life.... It kind of seems like it flooding with fuel as i get a puff of smoke come out when it does this. The engine idles smooth, pulls hard and feels like a very nice motor so i know its nothing to do with engine itself. Im going to try changing the coolant temp sensor to start with and also the crank angle sensor. Does anyone have any thoughts as to what it might be before i start replacing things.
Ive never loved something so much but hated it at the same time like i do with a VR6

So this just happened
Went to drop a fresh set of spark plugs but i couldn't get the lead tool onto the base of the Bosch leads so i thought id be ok giving it a yank by hand.... I remember having this issue before on another vr6 of mine were the tool wouldn't latch onto the lead, seems as though the Bosch leads are a litter fatter and the tabs don't line up with both the oem and aftermarket metal lead remover. So she is sitting in the garage going nowhere until a set of leads arrive hopefully in the next few days, im starting to remember why i told myself id never get back into a mk3
Had to run into Bunnings to get the longest set of pliers they had.....

LOL
U can buy the Genuine Bremi leads from VW Village, its a little pricey, but they do last.
I think it's been about 2 or 3 years now since I last changed mine, haven't changed mine cause of the rebuild that's coming up.
Nice score on the car btwGarage:
