Finally got some wheels! Meet Gretchen.

15 and 16x8 wheels have been fitted before and with good offsets (20-30 front, 10-25 rear), tyres (no bigger than 205/40) and rolled guards, there'll be no rubbage, on suspension or fenders

I suppose with the strict licence rules all about now, there's no way around it. I had my dad teach me manual while I was on my red Ps, then by the time I got my greens, I was able to drive manual without trouble! Mind you, I drive this to Uni (30+km) during peak hours and yes, it does get annoying but nothing beats driving a manual!

now now boys, nothing wrong with an auto vr6.....had an easier life than a manual in most cases

I prefer my auto vr6 for long trips to work (160k+ return) than driving my manual ****box, just so much more cruiser

Yeah, agree'd that manual feels better, but under my circumstances there wasn't much of a choice. Regardless, I love the car to bits, and there's no changing that.

@ Golf Houso; I've got a few snaps of cars with Diamonds on them, and they do look fair dope. However I've heard they're a racing wheel, and they're not the cheapest option around. Dad's got some 4x100 Steelies that came stock on his Ghia when he bought it, and we're thinking about widening them (15X8,7), he'd be happy to run them on his aircooled, and I'd be stoked to run them on the VR. I'd just need some adaptors from 5x100 to 4x100 (not sure if that's possible...)

Also, started my sticker collage on the back of the rear vision mirror. I also want to remove that bar in the boot, parcel shelf leans on it, runs from the top of each strut...? I don't think it's there for structure reasons, or to support the back seats, but fitting 2 BMX's in there with it still on is going to be tough! catch my drift?

Is this bar really necessary? I want to take it off to fit bikes in there with more ease. I don't think it's there for support for the seats (they dont lean across it), but is it there to act as a brace between the two struts?

The bolts are real weird, I'm not sure how I'd go about removing it without a hacksaw

In other news,
I got the gyro plate from my stem on my BMX, and used it as a key ring.

that bar is not really a strut brace no. Its more just a child restraint support.
I removed it from my vr6 as i carry a lot of stuff in the back of my car and it made no difference

Ding ding ding. But that man a cigar. It's the child restraint, nothing more. The screws that hold it in are not load bearing in anyway, they basically stop it from falling out backwards.

The bar can be pulled out (and kept elsewhere). Technically you could cut out the parts that it bolts to, but ADR says it has to be there, you never know, one day you might want to use it.

Any suggestions as to how I remove it? As I said before, the bolts are pretty daft. I'll have a better geeze tomorrow, and see what can be done.
