Silly Question: Mk3 Golf and VR6 Gear Stick Boot

I feel like an annoying person. Are the gear boots for VR6 and Golf GL the same.

reason i ask is on ebay the new mk3 Golf boots look better than then boots specified for VR6.

I have asked one seller who states they are different??? odd

My boot is CLAGGED.
