My left side tie rod was hella bent as PO must have hit a gutter and as a result the tie rod bent and wheel cracked. tires were bald and wheels matched up on different sides of the car to hide the damages.
Took the vr down to a vw specialist only 5 minutes from my house, "Golf city" btw they're a wreckers but they do repairs too and i must say it's the tidiest place i've ever seen! not one thing out of line.
They did the tie rod and found a few more issues.. brakes, driveshaft and my control arm bushes were gone, so these were a must!
they were going to be needed to be done to get my rwc anyway so it's not an issue.
few issues along the way with some snapped bolts meaning more work as they had to drop the whole K frame to retrieve the broken bolt.
a hefty $1080 later and the steering isn't taking me to the left side of the road anymore, although it still needs an alignment done asap it can wait till i get the my wheels hopefully on sunday!
then we can go for a rwc! although i am expecting more issues and dramas, but if i am expecting them i wont be disappointed.
nice Sunday over to Bflat's to pick up some schmidtyssss!!
was abit scared I was going to look like a monster truck...
but after dropping it onto its own 4 legs it wasn't as bad as I was thinking it was going to be, still needs low though
also got around to deleting the top roof spoiler as not really the biggest fan of, sick of them not retaining their colour, and overall It looks better IMO. btw the adhesive or whatever was left behind was a huge pita!
wheel alignment next and hopefully my tyres are ok others more money to fork out! hard when I'm only 17 and in highschool [emoji20] but non the less It makes me happy!
currently getting some tires put on, going from 195/45 on a 16x8 to a 205/50, might be alittle chunky but i need some meat on my wheels, plus i'm not lowered yet so i look like a 4x4, hopefully this helps abit, pics later + wheel alignment
fills in the gaps abit Better, also my passenger wheel sits out further than my driver side , dad was a panel beater for many years but for what I can see the passenger side was in a smash and it's been poorly repaired,, the fender starts to push in closer to the front which makes it look like worse than it is , and also the axel Its self sits out a tad further , so these things together make it look ****ed. I will have to have a better look at it when I get some more spare time. but that was before my wheel alignment and with my old tyres on , I'll get better pics another time
