They say pictures are a thousand words so here's one. The thing is, I couldn't really find where the wheels were rubbing but it did sound like they were so maybe it's actually the springs that are bad? I know that if I press into the car on the rear right the spring creaks. Was like this from the start.

I jacked it up and gave me enough room to poke around. It's rubbing only a little inside and this would explain the little specs or red that I'm seeing on the tyre.Originally posted by anthony--t View PostIt's probably the tread of your tyre inside the wheel well. Not the guard on sidewall. As stated if you take the wheel off you might see something. M
Apart from changing my tires, could I just get stiffer springs? What's the best option?Past - '95 VW Golf MK3 VR6

Isn't this something the place I got my wheels aligned would tell me? Pretty disappointed because if I get new tyres I need to get them aligned again anyway.Originally posted by anthony--t View PostBest option is to change tyres. Your rolling radius would be way out so your speedo won't be right and car won't be as quick as it should be. Put the stockies on or get the tyres swapped over. Cheaper than buying stiffer springs probablyPast - '95 VW Golf MK3 VR6

They wouldn't know what tyres are standard on a mk3. It's not their job unless they ordered the tyres for you
You won't need another alignment from swapping wheels or tyres.
