They say pictures are a thousand words so here's one. The thing is, I couldn't really find where the wheels were rubbing but it did sound like they were so maybe it's actually the springs that are bad? I know that if I press into the car on the rear right the spring creaks. Was like this from the start.

They wouldn't know what tyres are standard on a mk3. It's not their job unless they ordered the tyres for you
You won't need another alignment from swapping wheels or tyres.
