Power Increases

What power increases have people been getting
with simple mods such as intake, exhaust and may be a chip??

It would be interesting to find out what kind of increases you
get from cams etc as well, the more techy stuff.

When it comes to the VR6, after you do the exhaust and intake your pretty much out of options without spending some serious coin since most parts are reasonable as stock parts. Even chipping a VR6 usually only gives single digit power gains.

Other engines... we will see what others have to say, but like I said, let us know what engine you want to know about and we can give some better answers.

yea like hawk said your not gonna get huge increases with bolt on or plug and play things unless you spend the serious cash.

what kinda gains can you get with porting the intake anyway?

I guess most also try to get that VR power down low. by doing internal gear box mods or shrick or volkswagen motorsport VSR intake manifold replacemants.

Do an intake and exhaust and enjoy the noise. Will give u small upgrade in power.
If you have a money tree that doesnt mind being shaken. Cams, chip, exhaust. supercharger! TURBO! The sky is the limit.

one of the best additions i made to my vr6 was the schrick intake manifold. Added a lovely whack of torque way down low just where the vr6 needs it.

You can also mess with the gearing but that gets mega expensive as the gearbox has to come out

Just buy Jay's supercharger kit. Bolt it on and then hang on.

I'd probably port n polish the shrick too - squeeze every last drop out

I didn't get very large power gains from The exhaust and intake mods, but what i got was a mad noise, and heaps better responce, and a willingness to rev its titties off.
