    That's so true! Don't even consider the Eurosport manifold, though - it's absolute rubbish, along with their service. The only way to go is a Hartmann or Supersprint

    You can also run a LHD tubular VW ABF header and then a Techtonics downpipe.

      Nice to see you’re enthused to get some further work done on the beast. Look forward to watching your progress

      Your local exhaust shop will do just as good a job as anything else available However, I must defend Eurosport, as I’ve dealt with them for a number of bits and pieces and found their service outstanding. As far as their or any other extractors on the market go, unless your car is built as an out and out race car and you want to tune it to within an inch of its life…....all of these ad ons are simply for the “wank factor.”

        The VW Motorsport ones are a very interesting design. Very long primaries.

        The second ones appear to be NA 20V extractors.

        Both set's have a very nice collector system.

        Will be good to what your exhaust shop can come up with. If there good at what they do, you'll have no trouble's with what they build.

        That's an intereting statement.

        I'm not having a go, but what your saying is extractors are a waist of money on a street car

        Having them coated/chromed is a bit of a wank when you can't see them!

        I don't think there a waist at all. A 10+hp gain for roughly $300 is money well spent in my books. Eg. Take a stock 60Hp golf. 10+% increase in power for approx $900 incl. the entire exhaust system is money well spent.

        If the car makes more efficient power, than it's also going to use less fuel to make the same power. Why not fit them to a street car.

        I noticed an immediate difference once I fitted my 4-2-1's & free flowing 2" system. Engine was much smoother, smoother power & an noticable increase in the power delivery across the entire rev range.

        OT Tell that to the Holden boy's with the Gen3's. Set of extactor's & pipes can yield an increase of upto 60hp for roughly $1500!

            6HP gain for $900 Not money well spent in my opinion Average person would not notice any difference on the road. 60HP for $1500 is a bit better use of your hard earned, but for “normal” street driving I just don’t see the point……reach the speed limit faster from the traffic lights

            Not saying that it is not worth doing…..just pointing out that Sean’s local exhaust shop will probably do just as good a job as these stainless/coated systems going around……which are probably purchased to add a bit of bling to the engine bay before owners start considering their actual benefits Hey…I’ve just done exactly what I’ve outlined for the caddy. I’m not really interested in the benefits the extractors give me as it is just a road car. It’s the “bling” or “w.nk” factor

                I can notice the difference, with my extractors, defiantly smoother, power increase isn't huge, but the improved low/mid torque is a bit notice able.

                Sure, not earth moving, but a subtle change, not bad for $100, I think. They give a nice niose, give the lil 4 pot a bit more balls.

                All up, a straight through 2" with hot dog, and straight through muffler, + extractors, for under $450..? Sure it may only be 10 horse on the dyno, but driving, you can feel, and hear the difference. Good value IMO

                    I've got Daalder in Box Hill, Melbourne, doing the work for me. It should be alright...

                    I'm looking forward to getting them. If there's an increase in power, then that's cool. But the main reason for spending this sorta dosh is to clear the EPA emissions test... The current manifold has a crack in it, and every other 16v mani i can find has one as well... Stupid cast manifolds!

                    And yes, the stainless pic is of a 20v manifold. I simply printed it off for them so they have an idea of what else they could do...

                    I'll pop down there next week and take some updated photos. Hopefully it won't be installed yet, and i can get some progress pics of them being made on the bench!

                        I went down there today, and they wanna remove the power steering rack to make the extractors...

                        But anyway, I we've changed our minds, and making a 4-1 system....

                        No pics yet, will have something on tuesday though.

                            4-1 will go nicely with fairly hot cams and a decent head. Just for the record, my Eurosport exhaust was faulty, and they offered no help so I had to pay to have it fixed (much like BBM); my manifold also leaked at the joint and had to be modified. They were incredibly helpful until I contacted them with problems...

                              Alrighty, I finally popped down there!

                              It's looking pretty good so far!
                              I'm quite impressed with the work!
                              They still have to press in steel where the 4-1 collector is, and attach a flex, and a flange to mate it to the cat, and then fit in the centre muffler!

                              So, what you might have been waiting for....
