Any help is hugely appreciated.

hey dude get those rivits in stainless steel so they don't rust and make sure that you put a plastic primer on before you paint them or they will flake off after a while sweet!!!!

I used aluminium rivets, the paint I'm using has a built in plastic primer, it's especially made for use on plastics etc.

i know this is an old post hahah but where can these be found or bought?

They're just regular rear quarter and front fender trim pieces. Any non vr6 / late vr6 4 door in aus will have them. So try wreckers etc

Wooooooooooooo, be careful with this thread man, it's an antique,

Those end pieces are a solid solution, BUT... the early unpainted VR side mouldings are wider than those GL/CL/Vento end plugs, so although they function fine and your average person wouldn't notice/care, to get it to match spot on you'd need to replace the door strip too... which are equally as easy to find, but then you lose the VR6 badge. Another option is to get colour coded ones.
