after my previous car (holden VP Calais 5lt) i cant understand why guys cant finish their mk3 project's? it deffo cant be money as modifying a holden with a nice taste can be quite expensive..... this vento has cost me **** all and the body mods are almost done! wheels are going to kill me money wise though.... again. *sigh* ah well... needs to happen.

Of course modifying a commodore with nice taste is hard, it's almost impossible . Well I for one am a student and I'm not studying anything to do with anything mechanical, so money is a factor, as is knowledge, and space (I don't have a nice big garage like that to play in, my car lives on the road at the moment...I am jealous). I'd say the opposite with Aussie cars I had an ED and apart from fuel it was the cheapest thing to fix. Big old pos barge though.

Trying to get local mechanics to work on a VW without adding a whopping euro-tax isn't always straight forward, and mk3s are generally young people's cars, so moolah will always be a factor.

Just a matter of putting yourself in someone else's shoes I guess.

Really keen to see where you go with this car, will be epic.

Defected while getting something to eat.... walking half way cross the road only to get intercepted by a highway patrol...
Gave me a $355 fine and a major defect, i told him thank you for protecting us from the horrible criminals!

Told me i was around 60mm high.... this is where he measured from... thought id measure for peace of mind

Its raised now and stock... gonna paint everything and set the car up before i lower it again...

meh, cbf contesting... ill get more joy making them feel pathetic while they defect my standard volkswagen vento.... reminding them of their great police work and making them know the world is now safe from another 15mm too low car!

fine is for too low and suspension travel (didnt even test that!)

tyres were bald, i covered my middle break light with a window spoiler, tinted lights and all red tails.... he didnt even notice those thing or write them down!
he explained before he did anything that he was doing a license and roadworthy check... got the wheel out, rolled it.. hit the sill.... STOP THE INSPECTION AND FINE THIS MOTHER****ER!!!! gave me the defect and fine, n left..... he could have just told me he only wanted to find something on my car to FINE me... would have made more sense....

anyway im having a slight issue... basically the car has a 5,000rpm rev cut... has anyone else come across this? im not sure what is happening?

Suggestion: Don't list the other things here on the net. You never know who might see it and send a cop to your place to defect you again. just ask Benny J here on the forum.

But yeh, good to see the cops are protecting the nation by throwing out $350 fines to those evil bastards in super dangerous 1990s 2.0L 80kw Volkswagen Ventos....
