Sounds good mate, I'm aiming to sell my VR6 toward the end of the year as well which will work well.
I'm currently on the fence in choosing the next car to buy. Literally between a 9N polo GTI or a manual VR6

    definitely stay in touch bud

240, 000kms, body etc has actually only done 200, 000 but cluster matches engine. In FS section.

I've seen some pretty ratty cars showing low kms, a VR went at auction with 96,000 kms, I had a punt but was out bid, turned out it had a cluster change, and the thing was a hacked out POS, not to mention about 2 weeks later it was relisted as a repairable write off after it caught fire (black one that went through Fowlers). Not saying that's common, but kms aren't everything, especially if you balance expenditure against depreciation, you may find that you're paying a premium in the hope that it's going to sell high, but it may cost you a lot more in the interum compared to a better maintained car with higher kms. I was looking at low km cars, but bought mine with a few more because I knew some of the history (had been commuted a fair distance on motorway, and had done numerous Sydney runs, not to mention some tasteful mods and what seemed to be respectable previous owners), had a good look over it and no sign of dodgy repairs, came with some decent wheels that I eventually sold, and when I drove it it was super smooth and the body was tight.

Not saying for a second that kms shouldn't be a factor, as they certainly should be, but I think an obsession with them is misguided. For me kms are a bargaining point, not a requirement.

what sort of money are you looking to spend? My 2 door vr6 is for sale - have a look in the for sale section. And just to stay on topic it has 168,000kms.

9N3's go from around 13k, need a chip tune and some coilovers/better coils to be much fun. Frequently one for sale on here, 2 or 3 now. 135kw with the chip. Still, a VR6 is more raw, sounds better and cheaper.

                Good luck.

Hi. My VR6 is for sale. It is manual & in reasonable condition. A couple of things need attention - drivers window just stopped working and needs new engine mounts.

I'm planning to put it up for sale in a week or so.

                        PM if interested

Hi all. This one above sounds good. My drivers window is also broken. It might be as easy as getting new runners, $100 or so off eBay. But if its the plastic cog bit that's not as easy, wrecker's would be the go as vw used the same motor in a lot of their cars for many years. Vw want $750 ish for a new motor as they don't sell the weak plastic cog alone. I bought mine with only 71000 on it. Its a 1996 but I have had a few elec problems which suck. Just drive them, you will know when you find a good one, after all, having problems with a 2nd car is all part of the fun. Oh, and every thing is for sale for the right price. Ha ha. Happy shopping.

                            haha,
yeah my rear windows don't work on my current VR6 and i'll be needing to fix them very soon. My mechanic thinks they need new regulators? but who knows, all i know is that it wouldn't be cheap to fix.

                            Thanks for the reply danwatto

Yeah, one of my rear had broken too but I was able to use a cable tie to hold it as it jumped off the cable runner. It might be easy as that. If it can't be fixed with a cable tie its not worth fixing! Ha ha
