  • Wanting to buy a MK3 VR6

    Hey everyone,

It's been hard to come across a decent manual VR6 these days and i'm quite keen on buying one.
    I'm from Melbourne - Victoria

If anyone has a hook up, feel free to let me know.

    Thanks heaps,
    Andrew

Ouch, that's a fair few km's but i mean it's yet again, really rare to find one with anything lower than 200k

They are coming up to 20 years old.

If it has done under 100,000kms it's probably been clocked.

I'd get a well looked after high km car over a neglected low km car that has only ever done short journeys any day of the year.

Looking at VR6s a while back, along with other cars (BMW 318is/320i) and those with higher kms tended to be in better mechanical shape than really low km models. You take a car that sits for 1.5 hours a day at 110km/h, travelling 150km a day and to my mind it is going to be a far more reliable car than one that sits in traffic for 1.5hours a day at 15km/h travelling 15kms.

This is the logical approach, I agree. But when you go to sell a car, the punters aren't looking for whether they're 'country klms' or inner city cold morning 15 minute drives. They just care that it has 150000 or 250000 and I know that the 150000 will/ can almost be worth up to double the higher ks one depending on condition.

Mk3s clock back over to 0 at 300,000 anyway! wonder how many people that has fooled.

Everyone is getting a bit off topic though. Lets find this man a car! His last mk3 was awesome so I wanna see what he'll do with a new blank canvas.
