Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

I'm pretty sure the kms are true I have the service book and order date of the car pretty much everything from when it was first bought by the one 84 year old German owner who had to sell it due to his driving skills getting poor few dings n bumps on the body but will make a thread soon for it

I've updated the first post with some current information. The annual picnic at Stanwell Park was nice and someone managed to snap a picture of the car which was good.

The next step is some wheels, which are of course at the powdercoaters at present.

Thanks Josh! I've been told 4-6 weeks now for the new lips that are being made up. Long time but it'll be worth it for the deep dish!

So I had a fun day yesterday with Josh (jz_64_eh) installing a Peloquin LSD equipped gearbox. I believe that there are also ARP differential bolts installed rather than the weaker rivets installed in a stock gearbox.

Along with this a BFI stage 0.5 front engine mount was installed.

The driving feel is like night and day I have to say. From the brief drive I had cornering speed and grip is much improved. One of the better modifications that I've done in my opinion.

            Tim.

                Thanks for the kind words.

They're bought as smoked e-code lights normally from Hella I think.

I Joey modded mine by simply painting the non reflective part inside of the headlights as a cheaper alternative.

Have a read of this DIY from Vortex to see how it's done:

Well it's been a while. I've since added a few things here and there but nothing major.

Oil change, spark plugs, Neuspeed strut bar and leather interior. I'll put up photos of the interior and bar a bit later when I take some shots.

Got some new wheels on too but I'll upload some proper shots of that a little later as well.

Some recentish pics from a downshift meet a month or so ago:

No, no Borbet's unfortunately, just some ATS type 10's. Very similar design though imo.
