That yello connector is for the headlight dim dip resistor if you have one, and yeah Matt is right the single connector is a freebie

Cheers valver, much appreciated! Yeah ive got everything except the siemens alarm relay setup, is this desperately needed?
The alternator excitor wiring i stole off the 8v so thats why its diff colour plug but im 100% sure its correct. And yeah i would love to grab that plug off u as itll save me some hassle.
He has the SEAT key and barell and ecu, so all should be well.
That red connector is not used. Just there for the random element.
The ones down by the light on the drivers side are emissions and ac related, not very crucial
Sounds like you are getting closer.
Ah good stuff
The emissions system is on the driver's side on an ABF and is as important as any of the other major sensors: if the evap solenoid isn't connected, the ECU runs in limp mode.
To have a fully functioning OBD2 ABF (apart from the obvious), you need to check these plugs are in:
-The VSS/vehicle speed sensor on top of the box
-Both upper and lower knock sensors
-Crank angle hall sensor
-Cam hall sender
-TPS and throttle open switches
-Single O2 sensor (pre cat only)
-Evaporation solenoid
These will throw codes, but not limp the ECU:
-Coolant temp sensor
-IAT sensor (there is no MAF on Digifant 3)
-Oil low and oil pressure switches
I may have missed something, but will think about it more carefully later

Yes, you need the alarm relay setup. Of that I know 100% as I tested this theory a few weeks ago whilst playing around with rewiring my white Mk1 - I've always been curious what will trip the system, but now have tested everything!
The alarm box also connects to the rear Cupra loom section, so you need a full vehicle loom, ideally, otherwise you have to wire it into the system yourself.
It isn't a difficult swap, but can be if you don't have a whole car.
**Edit: the initially obvious solution is a 'AB' code ECU from an OBD1 car, but with the late loom, you need to switch the injector channels, change the pin for the diagnostic output.... plus find an early ECU and OBD1 throttle bod, so this path is hardly ideal...
Hmmm well this isnt great news at all. Will the car start at all without the alarm relay? What the hell does it look like? I got the full engine loom but not the entire vehicle loom. Megasquirt is looking better now but im not an expert with wiring so it will be a HUGE mission for me.
I reckon if you have everything forward of the fusebox, including the ecu and have the correct key etc it should start.
I can come over one day and give you a hand if you are getting close.

Nah i havent, i need to get an intake and tb gasket and then fill the car with oil. Ill see how things go first before i start to panic, prob at least a week or two away from turning the key.
What is this Siemans Alarm relay Valver? Is this the black double relay thing located over behind the airbag??
If so there is an easy way around it, that I`m happy to share.
If not, I still have the dash and car loom from that Cupra
Like I say Pedro, I`m happy to come and help you get it going if you need.

Yep that's it. It sits in the passenger kick panel in the Cupra and if it's disconnected, the car won't start. If it's connected, but the wrong key is used (or the transponder - near the fusebox - isn't plugged in to the loom), the car will start and immobilise after 1 second and the alarm will go off...
I'm interested as to how you'd bypass it; in fact, I don't believe it's possible as it runs via a 2-way signal between all the components...?
Nothing to worry about in the scheme of things anyway. There is a cheap way to bypass the whole lot, but if you have a whole loom then use it, as that's the best way of all

Its all plug and play if that loom is not there, the immobilizer doesnt miss it. Simply unplug that section or use an early loom like in Pedros car and all will be gravy.
I this week changed a 1998 Cordoba engine and loom with coded ecu and the siemans box into an early car and simply ditched that whole portion of the setup. The coded key aspect still works, but the alarm section does not. Thats basically what you want.

The immobiliser relays through the alarm box, though - that is the problem It is an integrated system (and a pain in the ass)
Anyway, didn't mean to start a ruckus about it - we'll see what happens. Get to the point of starting it first.

Need some pointers to wiring now. Trying to match up the fuel rail to the engine loom here are the colours:
Rail:
Clear
White
Green
Brown
Blue
Loom:
Blue
Green/grey
Red/grey
Blue/grey
Red
Anybody know which goes to which? And im trying to figure out the indicator wiring. On the drivers side theres a plug that includes the drivers headlight too and im assuming that the other four wires are the indicators for both sides. The colours are:
Green/black
Brown/white
Red/white
Blue/red
Any pointers here? I tried to get pics but they suck at night
Surely the fuel rail should plug into the same connector on the engine loom, regardless of colours.
The headlights should have a 4 pin connector to the headlights and a separate 2 pin connector to the indicators, probably with a white connector.
