Just a gumtree painter, Sumner Park based,

Car was a friends, intercepted the metal recyclers. Cost $9000 in 2008, bit of a fall from grace in that time, but despite being a little weathered it is straight as.

I gave a maroon mk3 to a scrapper, saved a vento, saving this so this way I'm all square with the VW gods.

Because what's the internet without pictures?

1997, GL, 165,000kms, with service history, paint is meh, but everything opens and shuts very nicely she's had an easy life, just one out in the sun. Started first go with the Volksborghini reVento's battery.

Came with all the goodies like service book, jack, undrilled parcel shelf....

Not sure, I'm going to make the claim that I've coined the name.... but internetland probably had it first.

Had to reverse ghetto-start the Vento today (see if you can translate that one), I think something's draining the battery, Golfy started first go, it's such a trooper, if it wasn't bor-o-matic I'd probably keep it for longer.

I have a maroon VR grille, are they sexier than GL one?? Vote?

Will defs get 18" chromes (same ride height) and a 15" woofer, Im not budging on those.

Also, have smoked VR side repeaters, and Arrex is hooking me up with a deep chin.

I had to reverse ghetto-start a number of times recently because my battery was on the brink. Seemed to work ok though Checked the Aux water pump? Maybe the fan control unit isn't shutting it off at the right time. Heard some stories where they run for like 3-4 hours. Oh and my boot light was another culprit... Left the hatch open for ages and it killed the battery.

                I vote VR6 grill!

Yeah good suggestions. I think the mystery that is the old Euro has dealt with it for me hasn't been an issue since.
Still need to get a battery for the Golf, really just need the cheapest thing that will start it as it won't be RWC right away. This car will be a minter, can't wait.

I have the old DIN65 out of the VR6. The guy tested it and its got 360CCA out of the 600 its meant to but I reckon it'd do a 4 cylinder fine. Its sitting under the house and holding a voltage of 12.6 after a charge about 2 weeks ago. Was just getting a little too light on for the 6 cylinder and would only do about 3 cranks. You're welcome to take it and use it until you get it roadworthied.

Every battery company I talked to said you NEED a DIN variant and they're usually upwards of $120 even if you go the smallest one which is about 400CCA. Apparently its something to do with sunken terminals where as the cheapo $80 have protruding terminals which short out on the hood? Sounds like BS to me but I ended up spending the $140 on a Hitec 500CCA one which was a good compromise and fits in my OEM battery blanket thing perfectly hehe.
