Just looking through those DIY's as I'm fitting my FKs in the next couple of weeks, do you actually need an impact gun to loose the 22mm top bolt on the front strut or can you just do it with elbow grease?

Impact gun makes it piss. You can use to tool and and Allen key, this usually ends in stripping it though.

@ veedub MK3, Exactly what Hayden said the impact gun makes it much easier, i didnt have one. It can be done without one, but with allot of care as not to strip it.

@lilQuakes, the coils have set now and the ride is bumpy and I have to nurse it going over any speed bump, and the i feel almost all bumps and imperfections in the road. But having said that, the stance and ability to give it the beans in the corners puts a smile on my face. I think in the end it comes down to you get what you pay for. Don't get me wrong I think the coils I have are a great budget buy but the ride quality suffers and you have to be prepared for the bumps. Im going to go back to a static setup with a 40mm drop.

Yeah, as much as I love the low and possibility of more low, my back,my control arms and all interior pieces will thank me for it. End of the day I'm by no means saying coilovers are bad. Just for me I want to be able to ride without bouncing around over every little ditch or hump. Maybe later I'll go back to a coilover set up but only after I can spend more $ on it.
