Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

As for the aircon even if the compressor is good doesnt mean to say there isnt another item faulty, do you know for certain you needed the compressor?? was the system tested properly with the gauges on?? You could have a bad TX valve and that would show up on the gauges for sure

From experience if the system has been left dormant the tx valve will be goosed

Stock wheels are back on and waiting for a panel beater to repair my sills. THe skirting and mudflaps will come after that!

Jealous. Be lying if I said I actually look hard for any. It's always a passing thought.

Have you got any quotes for the clear to be fixed?

Nope not yet. But I took it to a panel beater for a quote to get the sills bent out and he said they cant do much else but respray the entire panel.... so thatd be the entire drivers door and roof. I think ill give the spray can a shot first haha.

                            You don't even need airconditioning.

                            What's up with your gearbox?
