Finally got around to editing up my shots from GAD, didn't take as many pics as I'd hoped to, but here we go.
Had a bunch of things that I wanted to do to the car before GAD but wasn't able to due to a crazy couple of weeks with Uni leading up to the show. So all I had time for was a full clay/cut/polish/wax the night before in pitch black.
My mate Matt was joining me for the trip, so we had the car packed the night before and were up at 4:30 for a 5am departure to meet some other guys for a convoy to Canberra. Unfortunately he doesn't have a manual license, so I was doing all the driving, woop woop.
Arrived at the servo pre-sunrise, killer morning lighting + servo lights = cool shot.

A small convoy of six.
Mr. Dizbmx and I got split from the group at the first traffic light, a mere ~50 metres from our meeting point.
After being danced with by a group of delightful commodores up the Hume we hit some crazy fog on the outskirts of Victoria.

Flapping fairing and a toilet break.

Set Matt up with my 6D and gave him a quick photography tutorial whilst i was driving. A few hand signals later we were attempting rolling shots. This was the only half decent one he got.

So the plan was to meet up again in Albury for lunch and to pick up MrDeathLad. Not knowing any better I got off at the main Albury exit, which was wrong, losing my only other convoy companion. We circled Albury for a while in hope of spotting a gaggle of slammed v-dubs, it was not successful. So after a plea for help on the forums as I had no-ones phone number we accepted defeat and got lunch alone.
Next stop was up in Holbrook to stretch the legs, road trips hurt when you're 6'5" and driving a hatchback.

Hit a really nasty section of road at some point between Holbrook and Gundagai, as when I was filling up at the servo I noticed how ****ed the rear right tyre was, and then the mangled section of guard. Not nice at all. So we stiffened up the damping in the rear coils and hoped for the best. Didn't make it too far down the road after a few more nasty scubs we pulled into a truck stop for operation. Our road side ghetto ingenuity for the trip was rolling half the car off the tarmac to raise the back corner, and then using the seat post out of my bike to fix the unrolled section of guard. Not pretty stuff, paint didn't like it what so ever, but its at the very bottom and out of the way so not too noticeable now.

Made it into Canberra just before 3 o'clock, so a little too late for the cruise. So we went straight to the hills for a ride. Afterwards the bikes and racks were out of the car and back on the roof.
Matt's grandparents live up in Canberra, so we were crashing there for the weekend.

A few hundred dead bugs later, it was GAD time.

Our coincidental row of silver and white. 233243A3.
