  • Weekend updates

I updated a few things on the beast this last weekend (the spoiler removal got that bug going in me - rayray will know what i mean ...)

I added a DIY Cold air induction tube from the front grill:

I had to relocate the horn... sounds a bit odd now... haha:

I sprayed alot of things black
Here you can see the Front Badge, front reflectors and bumper lip (pay no attention to the cracked reflector on the passenger side ^_^ )

I also sprayed the rear badge, but i forgot to snap a pic of it... I'll take some shortly to show you guys the boot without the wing as well...

I also got pulled over on the sunday for having blue parker lights in... apparently they are illegal...

yeh mate it sucks i know. the copper was like "do you see anyone else with blue headlights?" and i'm like "ahh yeh, just look at any BMW made in the last 3 years..." - then i blamed it on the guy at repco who sold it to me and he let me off. I took em out the next day so now i have none...

What? The first position lights? Light first step lights on your headlights?
          Mine are blue LED's...

            Yep, ADR says so.

In short all you should have on your car is forward facing white lights, rearward facing red lights and orange turn signals. Also forward facing orange lights on larger vehicles (ie trucks). All else is illegal. There is even specs as to how high and how far apart and distance from the edge of the vehicle each light can/must be.

One of my mates has a copy of the NSW RTA book that lists all the bits and pieces, a very interesting read for anyone modifying a vehicle. It's a few years out of date now, although I'd guess there isn't a great deal that has changed. I don't know if the document itself was/is supposed to be available to the public.

the one on the left is the one i had in there - and i got in trouble for it...

this is what they looked like when the main headlights were not on.

they are not the main bulbs, and they turn on when you click the light switch to half way.

the copper was nice abotu the whole ordeal because I really did not know, he said that they are for show cars and they are not legal to use on the road - "only white lights mate" he says.

when they were on fully, they did look white... just take a look at my signature pic...

oh well... just means its time to upgrade to dual round hellas with HID globes

Nah, Black FTW! It's that "stealth" look that does it for me... mind you beinga VR6 stealth sort of goes out the window once you start it up
