OEM wheel specs for MK3 Golf GL?

Im sorry for asking this, ive searched everywhere and haven't really came up with any solid answers, so here we go

Can anyone please tell me what the original wheel specs are on a Mk3 Golf GL? I know that they are 14 Inches tall, with a 185/60/14 tyre and a PCD of 4x100, but what is the exact width and offset? People have said that it is +38, some have said +40, others have even said +45 so im completely lost Because im after a new set of wheels and i was trying to judge wether 16x8 E20 would be suitable but its had to tell when you dont know the original stats

be best to pull your actual wheels off and check, itll be stamped on them somewhere. They may be a few variations

The steelies on my CL were definitely 14x6 +45

Pull off a hubcap and it should be stamped on the wheel somewhere
