  • A little lag

    Hey guys,

Just curious as to why there is a little lag developing in the revs when 2nd and 3rd gear get to (or nearing) the 3000rpm range..
It loses a bit of power but then adjusts itself to get going again... doesnt make it as nice a drive when you lose those few seconds of power

    Is it a compression issue?
    Injectors need cleaning?
Something worse? But its only just starting to happen and i thought i might try and nip it in the bud before its gets any worse

    Thanks in advanced,

    wayz

It's not because it's a 1.8T ... trust me. Mine has no lag whatsoever ... once it hits 'spool-up' (about 1800rpm) ... the grin just gets wider.

I think your starting point should be getting the car scanned to see if anything errors/faults have been logged.

Have you serviced your car as of late? Maybe its time for a service, you will be surprised what a set of plugs and leads would do to your car!

I did a coolant flush and a new radiator hose

It made a big difference, car runs nicer, probably due to running cooler
