sorry should have been more specific, im in victoria and i think the lowest you can legally go is 100mm from the ground, thats the lowest part of the car that is, which is i think just behind the front wheels where the jacking point is.... so am i still ok you think?

i think ill be ordering the kit from "going fast" on ebay. so itll be comin from america, i know i could probably find them here somewhere, but ill be gettin some other stuff (d badged grille, vr lip, smoked lights, etc) at the same time so i'd be savin a little money.

ill be installing it myself, i work at VW in ferntree gully in melbourne as an apprentice so i got people to help me

        thanks too

100mm from the ground... I just whipped out the ruler and did a quick run around my car. (which is stock AFAIK)

If I drop it 60mm in the front and 40mm in the back it should sit about where I want it and put and put the whole thing pretty damn close to exactly 100mm from the ground.

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

Not yet, you will have to tell me how it goes.

As for legailty... it's only illegal if anyone checks...

I mean, how many people have Pod filters? nn:

Pods are fine. Open, exposed, i'll fitted pods are unroadworthy.

Hehe. Stupidly, I'm living by that rule And I'm oh so illegal right now haha.

Shteifen, how much is the H&R cupkit going to cost you? Seeing as you're living in Melbourne, there's a shop in Flemington called GTsuspensions. Some good stuff there - they stock Koni, Eibach and H&R goodies. I personally bought my Koni struts and springs there - the springs are for sale right now though

are you talking about the cup kit? I have the h&r cup kit under my car. it drops 2" and 1.7" in the rear. it looks good and all, but it wasn't something I wanted. but the deal was just too good to refuse at the time.

how much are you getting it for?

ya its Burwin's i work at great place!

ya its the cup kit, i think ill be gettin the kit itself for around 535 american $ pluss like...200 for shipping which is why i was gonna get it through them cos i was already gonna get some other stuff through them, like the vr lip and dbadged grill, that sorta stuff. but if i can get it here for cheaper that'd be great but ill check out that GTsuspension place too, my brother mentioned them a couple days ago

as for the pod filter legality thing, ya i got one of those but only cos i cant find the screws to put the original airbox back. im slowly acumulating screws from work that'll do them job though!

i just came home from TAFE and i was wondering to myself as i saw a VS ute scraping over a speed bump, how often do people get into trouble for being too low here? its not even funny how low some cars are at my tafe.

I scrape the underbody of my car around most humps now. Before it used to be only the lip, but I've changed back to a duckbill for now. Most scrapes are avoidable by just going over humps uber slow and taking it on diagonally. No problems doing that

$735USD shipped is ridiculously cheap! Just watch out for import taxes once you accound for the VR lip and grille though. Try and keep it under $1000AUD per shipment!
