  • Long weekend tinkering...

With a little spare time up my sleeve I did a few things I have been thinking about for a while, one of which was to mow the back lawn. But to the important things:

The Air filter has gone from this:

    to this:

Got the Chrome heat shield from AutoBarn for about $25, sprayed it with a quick couple of coast of the yellow I used on the brake calipers Not the best fit at the moment, but with the current mouting, it's the best I can do. Look at alternative ways to mout it... eventually.

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

Actually the chrome badge was done a while ago, I only just noticed thats different in the photo myself

The headlight surrounds have now been colour coded.

              Looks nice hawk.
P.S. How did you turn that black badge back to chrome? I used "chrome" paint but they turned out to be shiny silver.

Nah, they are some other brand. It says TYC on the glass.

The only thing I'm not 100% happy with is with projectors it really only puts light DIRECTLY in front of you, so turning into driveways at night can be a little interesting as there is no light as you turn.

They came on the car when I bought it, otherwise I would probably have bought Mk4 style headlights... or angel eyes

How much was it to get the surrounds colour coded??

They look nearly indentical to Hellas, although I have to say I'm wayyy impressed with my projectors. Stacks of light

About $12 worth of black gloss paint.

I'm not completely happy with the finish just yet, they need to come back off and be sanded, get another coat of black, then a coat or two of clear. But for the moment it's near enough, I wanted to see if I could get anywhere near the finish I wanted fore I gave up and paid someone else to do it.
