Sounds great man, its a killer car, funky colour but thats the best bit really. Its different and its rare as hell. I bought a VR6 which needs some love too, so its a good project, boring if theres no wrenching on it!

Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

i am currently the proud owner of this car!
im not too sure of how many hands it has passed through since this thread was posted, but its safe to say i really love the car and it will be thoroughly looked after,
im currently looking into re trimming the seats back to their factory glory, the black spray was a bit of a let down but none the less, cams have been replaced previously to my ownership with autotech 272s along with coilovers alround, the wheels powdercoated black, new black interior roof lining, and many more necessary maintenance repairs (Timing chain, cam sensors, larger brakes).
unfortunately its been de-badged on the rear doors, im still looking for a place to source them also.
but all in all, its a great little car and it looks and sounds great.
cool to see a bit of an insight to the cars history!
