I was just thinking tonight. Could i fit the 5th gear from a TDi into my VR6, and take advantage of the taller ratio, maybe i could improve my fuel economy. would this work? has anyone ever done it?

Indeed
Oh and my old exhaust used to drone baaaaaaaadly at 90 or 110, but at 100 it was perfect.
Found out it was a straight-through system though, so thats probably why!
Ditched the rear "muffler" for an actual muffler and the drone is all gone.1996 Golf VR6 Colour Concept Green
