So, I've moved to oz from Sweden and found it very annoying and tricky to obtain a decent and not stupidly priced VR. As these cars here sell for at least 50% more than back home i've just refused buying. BUT, after rolling around in my volvo 240 for a year the urge and desire to get back into a vw was to overpowering!!! SO, i finally went and paid more than needed for a car that needed / needs some love and care!
But at the end of the day, I'm now smiling every time i have to drive somewhere

Here are some pictures of the volvo, the current VR6 that i bought and a pic of my "old" mk3 GTI 16V! So sad the 16v mk3 didn't sell here because it was just amazing!

The VR6 only sold ~ 739 cars in Australia so it's a bit of a rarity. Becoming more and more so as the days go by too. We also missed out on a number of different models including the 16V Mk3 and the Mk4 24V VR6

aah ok, well that explains it! yeah the mk4 vr6 was pretty cool to =) sounded awesome. You guys also missed out on another one of my favourites, mk3 vr6 2,9L (192hp) syncro (4x4). Endless grip and lots of fun in the snow

Welcome mate. Gotta say the VW model choices and girls over in Sweden are a lot better than down here, don't know why you would come down under!

Quick info about the VR6 and things to come:
150000km, cruise control, all electric windows, manual, runs well and strong =) no sunroof

Ok so obviously the current vr6 came with a few kinks.
[ ] item to be attended to / not started
[x] attended item
[/] parts obtained / process started

So far:
[x] suspension!! FK Street line coilovers
[x] service, oil, oilfilter and airfilter
[x] some kind of a ford coil pack installed prior to purchase
[x] new front suspension bushes
[x] refurbished the plastic trims
[x] polished the whole car
[x] amp and sub installed
[x] instrument lightning and other interior lightbulbs replaced
[x] drivers chair fixed (plastic bushes missing)
[x] rear speakers replaced
[x] non broken antenna mounted
[x] missing inner front mudgards mounted
[x] headlights alligned
[x] rear electric window regulators repaired
[x] instrument cluster downlight changed to red, red needles acquired needs installing
[X] chrome/metal inner door handles ordered
[x] chrome/metal door pinns ordered
[x] vr6 wheel airvalve caps mounted
[x] rear vw badge sprayed black, want a nice chrome one if anyone has one???
[x] replace shifter - sloppy, have the new bits.
[x] Remus rear muffler
[x] new 17" BBS bought!!!! getting fitted tomorrow!!!
[/] tint partly removed, needs replacing
[ ] put a hose from the airfilter box down to the front bumper.
[ ] would like mk4 gti front and back seats
[ ] short stubby black antenna
[ ] mk4 look head lights. Where can i get some and for right hand drive??
[x] fix spedometer, everything works up to the instrument cluster but speedo is dead.
[x] chrome rings for the guages in the instrument cluster
[x] paint the edges around the reflectors in the headlights black.
[x] shade the side markers
[ ] euro style clear smoke front indicators and foglights
[ ] new light switch to accomodate for the front foglights

As this is a daily driver i want everything to work and never break, wishful thinking =P

audi bollero 17"/8 et 35 5x112 new black paint, refurbished by previous owner so they are round and perfect, no chips or rashes as they have never been used since renovated.

Welcome down under mate, if u've just come down during the winter get ready of the heat, its a killer !!
nice azz 16v btw, it sucks they didnt get the 16v and vr6 syncro down here. You woundnt happen to know if there was a difference in weight between the the syncro gear & the newer 4motion gear ?

Thanks mate! Nah, I've been here nearly two years but saying that I don't mean that I like it when it gets super hot, work outdoors.

The black Audi wheels at the end are for sale. Asking $600. 17x8 et35 5x112 Fully renovated, never used after they've been fixed up. Have a few paint chipps from when the tiers were put on and taken off. Yes paint is that shiny, nope i don't have any center caps :/ didn't get them with when i bought them. Reason for selling is because i changed my mind after getting them and bought the bbs wheels above.

Today I've managed to install my new rear muffler!



I'm pretty happy
Also had some time over and gave the paint a bit of a once over with a clay bar. Worked very well! The paintwork wasn't as fully bad as i initially thought.
Also managed to replace the gearleaver that was all sloppy so now it's all nice and precise. Triple win today in other words =)
