          • Many thanks to all of you!
It sure lifts the whole appearance of the car imo. And the hood lifters are just so sweet every time you pop the bonnet. And yes... i have been doing that prob every day at least once since i got the new manifold just to look at it haha.

Taking the manifold of an bolting back on is quite easy actually, very straight forward if youve ever done some mechanics before. What can set u back is detailing individual pieces as you go along. There's always bits and hoses that can be cleaned and brought back to former glory. Like the throttle body, once of i realized it also HAD TO be painted. No butts...
My plans initially were to sand down the front part of the manifold to, the 6 individual intake tubes, but it took to bloddy long and i ran out of patience. I just sanded them down to get a better and smoother surface that would look good once painted.

All up i prob spent 5h on actually preparing the manifold before swapping it over with the org on the car.
started of with like grit 60 and then worked my way up to 80, 120, 200something, 400, 600 and 1200. Then heaps of Autosol and more rubbing hehe. Did most of the hard work by hand since i didn't have any decent/adequate power tools for the job.
I could prob take it down to a mirror finish but after popping the hood as it is now i have to say that i really like it the way it is. Not to overwhelming. And knowing me Id freak out over the smallest speck of dust or fingerprint if it had a mirror finish :p

Tempted to remove bonnet/see through bonnet so i can glance at the engine whilst driving haha *nerd*

That time of day again. See ya guys!

( there will be more pics of the car coming later during the week, new fresh ones, possibly from the track to! )

Well the weekend came and went. I had a ball though. Took the golf for a few laps around a hill climb track and omg it was the best fun i've had in a long time!!!! GO VW!!

don't have many pics but here are the ones i've manage to come by.
Btw glad i installed the rear swaybar!!

Wish i could have been bothered to get people to snap more shots of me and the vr whilst driving but i was so ecstatic about driving that i forgot hehe =)

I got them from the wreckers, same on all mk3 and possibly/almost certain the polo to. Just go and drab a big bunch :p
Got the hood struts of ebay. Just do a search mk3 golf and chose worldwide.
Best purchase ever, apart from the car itself that is makes a huge difference!

                            • Looks like my Australian journey is coming to a swift stop and I have to move overseas. Damn immigration.

Car will be up for sale shortly. Will put up a proper for sale thread as soon as I finish the timing chain swap and refurbish the head which I'm doing at the moment.

Plz feel free to hook me up with pm's if anyone's interested in the car. Price will be around $6500-7500 depending on things that will come with it.

Spread the word and help me on my move.

Cheers guys it'll be hard to pass this one up and leave my life here.

                              Mr V - out.
