  • New rego/licence plates

    Hi all,

I was thinking about getting new rego/licence plates for the VR6 and wondered what style you guys have. i like the new style plates as they look a similar to German plates, but i also like the silver on black, but not sure how it will look on the car...

The new plates look llike the UK size which would fit the entire plate reccess which would look alot better than the older smaller ones.

what do you guys think? any advice most welcome....

    cheers!

I don't mind the whole euro plate thing on some vehicles, but it's not my personal taste.

I like my Sydney Olympic plates

Better than the standard NSW B/W plates since it's nice and symetrical (no NSW) down one side. Also a bonus these are my plates made up in 1999 before they brought in that nasty annual fee on ALL custom [ordered] plates, not just the premium ones.

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

I use the standard white ones at the moment but the Euro plate would definitely be the one I'll go for. Our plate recesses on our front bumper and hatch are designed to fit the Euro plates snugly.
      Past: Mk3 Golf 2L 8V, Audi 8L A3T.
      Present: Mk3 Golf variant.

i think anything other than euros just look silly on a mk3. cos the plate recess is so defined.
But then of course. Im biased

My plates are like the Hawks Vr, and have the same amount of numbers and letters. I went onto the RTA website today and apparently i cannot get the Euro style plates. i think its because there is one digit extra....

that sucks big time, i really wanted them too....i have 7 letters and numbers on mine....the ones i have seen with europlates have only 6 i think.

can anyone shed any light on this...looks like im stuck with the aussie shaped ones which dont do the plate recesses any justice!
