Anyone know of an Australian supplier for after market gauges to fit a VR6?

I have found a few overseas places that sell them, but with MPH instead of KPH and F instead of C for the temp.

I quite like this style:

As it is I have to replace the little bulbs that shine down onto the gauges and I figure while I'm there...

Any suggestions?

Keep looking, theres a plent on ebay that have both. i dont look at the temp gauge much so long as it stays in the middle, im more interested in oil temp.

Got a link to some in KMH? Just haven't seen anything other than stock ones. At the end of the day I can convert imperial to metric well enough so it doesn't matter (used to drive a Type III Fastback which was all in miles )

check that you get kph and the right scale as well. speedos change between engines.

Yeah, just noticed the ones I were looking at cover the same sort of distance, but only go to 220 where my speedo goes to 260... wonder just how far the VR6 gets to that...

Not quite to 260, but definately passes 200

Sadly the main scale is in Miles with the internal one in KM/h but it's getting close to what I want...

Will have to look at these things a little closer.

Anyone actually done this sort of mod before? How hard was it to put it in?

yeh i was thinkin of doing it, it looks freakin sweet when you do (i saw something on vwvortex where the dude posting actually replaced all the lights in the dash and behind the LCDs with red LEDs. anything other than stock looks awesome.

it would probably take a few hours to take apart and reassemble, so i would leave it as a weekend job and make sure you have another car available for justin ("just in case" that is!)

I also hear that you have to be VERY careful when threading the faceplate over the needle because apparently you can offset the readings...

edit: also, if you end up going for it, create a new thread and do a tutorial for us all!
