question:: so i spent a decent amount on a audio system , and i have never been 100% happy - why ? because you can't turn it up to even a moderate volume without the doors RATTLE ! those 6" dont put out that much bass as it is, and i have to turn the bass down to help reduce the noise. does anyone else have this problem? i have tried fixing this by getting some rubber strips and sticking them between the speaker and door to try and absorb vibration. hasn't helped.

yeah mate i've had the same problem. i put bits of rubber between the plastic bits of the door trim, definitely improved the rattles but it still aint perfect.

They came in the car when I got it...

I actually thought all mk3's had them until I met Alex (KI11Z) and saw he just had blanks...

They are fantastic stealth fit, and sound unreal!!! The Clarions give a nice crisp note, with plenty of bass. I'm happy with the setup...

Perhaps the VW gurus (Ben "Phaeton" or Phill "Synchro" could shed some light on what models had the AutoSound system...???)
