    Just thought i would share the findings of an 020 diff that went out for lunch. Ive seen plenty but this one did it royally

      theyre all ticking time bombs arent they?
      Looks like it has sheered a few rivets and the ones that didnt break took a chunk off the diff!

              How easy is it to DIY a bolt kit? I've been looking through this fellow's website on VW gearboxes - BrokeVW.com - and it seems the only hard part is when installing the diff back in again and checking the bearing preload using a specialised VW tool:



              Buying such a tool wouldn't be worth it as I'll be using it once or twice only, so is there any other way? I would like to give this a go!
