    Hi Loon, and Ray,

Yes, I did realise diff models require different conversions.

But loooking again, Dieselgeek actually don't seem have to have a short shift kit for Mk3 Golf 2L.

    Might need two seperate buys?

      Thread revival!!

Am tossing up between buying a dieselgeek short shifter for the VR6 or a nuespeed one.

$225 for diesel, $499 for the nuespeed.

      Link for the nuespeed: here.

      What u guys think??

No brainer in my opinion - Dieselgeek! Ive heard plenty good about them, so why pay twice the price for Neuspeed?

im happy with my dieselgeek. neuspeed one is overprices. also i think i remember reading that the install on it is harder as well. i did my own dieselgeek install. took me aout 4 hours. although i think the standard install time was sposed to be about 2 hehe

U do need a dremel though!

That would be an issue, since I dont plan on installing it myself (twood probably take me ALL weekend!)

The dieselgeek site says you have to post back your old shifter so they can make another one. Wtf???

I've never used a short shifter that i've liked.
Everyone that i've used has had a crap shift from 3rd to second, which is very important to me.

And im unsure what everyone is on about with the left-right shift. mine is like going forwards and back 3 times to get to 5th, no side movment at all.
The throw is a bit long though, especially to 3rd and 1st.

Tah for clearing that one up!

Probably end up spending half of the refund in postage costs getting the old shifter back to them.

I'm pretty keen on one still Steve coz it was the first thing my rice burner mates suggested as a mod. Better yet since one of em works for a performance garage he's willing to whack it in after hours

i got mine years ago. It was the first mod i did to my car cos i couldnt handle the rowboat-like gearshift. I think the pricing has changed since then. i paid about $20 shipping via snail mail. and that was just ordered thru the dieselgeek website.
