is there anything i can do to my engine to give it more balls. besides a very costly engine swap.
i love my shell and really dont want to part with it cause of the engine being slow.

The simplest way to increase the power to weight ratio is to remove weight... But of course that might mean loosing some creature comforts and in reality a GL is never going to be quick.

Maybe drive it round knowing it's never going to break until you can afford to replace the engine or buy something faster

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

There are a few engine mods available, but your not going to be getting huge power out of it at the end of the day unless you go forced induction.

Look at a slightly larger Cam
      Port and polished head
      Set of extractors
      Exhaust
      Chip

This should give you more revs, better topend (lose a bit of torque though) and a touch more power.

Best way to make it more fun, lose some weight out of the car as Aaron said, and set up the suspension (coilsovers/spring shock combo, swaybars, new bushes etc).

It really is too expensive to try and get more power out, so as above, I would personally look at a good spring/shock combo (cheap coilovers ride really hard), some nice wheels, stereo, rear sway bar, better brakes, etc.

Just make it a nice run around, handling well, looking good, being nice to drive.

Thanks guys. Well I have done everything except the engine. I got custom paint, bodykit, catback exhaust, custom interior and competition sound system. I have coilovers coming they are currently at heathrow airport . So I was just seeing if I could possibly do anything to the engine to make it a touch more enjoyable, thanks guys

A forced air induction is the best and easiest.....

i did find a site that said they could turbo it for around $2500, with staged racing Cams...not sure if that would be worth it..... Google search
