  • my vr6 cleanup/buildup

I've had my vr6 for a couple of weeks now and thought I would show it off
and show what we have been up to.

This is before we got the car.

this is what it looked like after it got home and had a bath

    The interior was very dirty

so we stripped it and cleaned it

    Scrubbed everything

  • #2
    and put it back toghether

Then we turned our attention to the hoodliner

    stripped it out

covered it in a fabric we found which looked very euro
we wanted to get some velour but could not find any locally
in black so went with this instead
    a closeup of the fabric

    and on the headliner

then we painted the grab handles and sunvisors
the a,b,c, pillers were already black as it is a colour concept

so thats what we have been up to, the interior is pretty much done we just
    need a new steering wheel
next few steps will include maintenance under the engine bay
and other bits around the car.

WOW! Nice find. That is an awesome colour- will certainly turn a few heads. You will find it hard to loose that one in a carpark. Those seats, gear stick, handbrake etc look wicked. You have done a great job on the headliner too. What are your future long term plans?

So cool! Good work on the interior, looks a ton better. Would you be looking into re-upholstering the seats? The Townsville sun must've taken its toll on them...

Glad to see that this ebay number is getting cleaned up. Not sure what you're going to do with the seats, but if it was me, I'd be looking into getting the seats re-dyed (painted) by a leather mob. Retrims are exxy....

Wow, amazing job I've got to say. The yellow and black in the interior definitely contrast well.

Always great to have more girls on VWW as well

good job man, that cleaned up real well. good job witht the head liner and grab handles and whatnot too.
the colour of the seats weirded me out at first, but they are growing on me and im sure once they are retrimmed or whatever they will be top notch!
nice colour too, as said before you wont loose that one

Yeah that poor leather looks pretty beat. Refresh for sure! I'd be verrrry interested to see how it comes out too, since mine are heading that way and this is something I'd like to do next year.

Thanks everyone for the nice comments
I will be looking into retrimming the seats one day but for now just wanting to get it on the road
I'll just put some seat covers on for now.
has anyone here done the leather retrims as discussed here

Also I still have to fix some things like
                              valve cover oil leak
                              front brakes
                              aircon doesn't work
                              cruise control doesn't work
                              airbag light stays on
                              I need a new stereo
                              and the list goes on
but I have some time before I get my licence
