  • Plastic cover around steering column

    Hi all,

Anyone have the plastic cover that goes around the steering column (steering column cowling) they wish to part with or sell. It is the clamshell part that goes around where the ignition switch and blinker switch is. (Golf VR6)

Appears that the last owner busted one of the screw slots and glued it. If I can't get a hold of a replacement I can do the same but would rather not.

    Thanks,
    Jeremy

Mine was busted when I got my VR6. McGrath at Liverpool charged me $35.71 ex GST for the top half of the set (the bit with the screw holes that break). July 2007 the invoice says... wow it's been a while

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

Just note that there is a difference between non-adjustable steering columns (some cl) and adjustable (gl, vr6).

The cheapest part I have bought for the VR6 is the little plastic bit on the front of the side skirt... $7! I think this steering trim bit was next. Pretty much everything else has had a 3 digit price tag (or worse)
