Also, I have one thats been "swiss cheesed" well more like annihilated that you can have for nothing if you want to play around with more intake sound.i did the cut a 1/4 of ur bottom 1/2 out
but it happens...i guess ill just find myself a new bottom 1/2 wen i need to. im intrested in giving my "cold air intake" more "cold air" to intake, but with the modded airbox.

I don't think you can get any better than a cold air intake pipe, or kit. BMC, DRiFT, etc...
These are enclosed filters with tubes that run down beneath the engine bay for colder air intake. Sounds like the best option to me, and one that despite saying I need to do for over a year, still haven't gotten around to doingMrk Detailing, premium automotive detailing. I have a 95 Vento GL, my airbox is missing its side and i have a K&N panel, sounds good and feels a bit better.
With the counterflow head design, i fail to see the point of CAI as your inlet manifold is encountering heat soak from the exhaust manifold right below it. But eh each for there own.

Say the heat from the exhaust manifold and gas that is transferred to the inlet manifold air is quantified (given a value). Say 30 degrees celcious is transferred, from the heat of the exhaust (air) to the inlet manifold air.
Now, if the inlet manifold air temp is say 20 degrees C, with the standard air box, then add the 30 deg C in heat transfer, and total heat of the inlet air is 50 deg C. Now if the inlet manifold air temp is 0 deg C, then add the 30 deg C of heat transfer and teh total heat of the inlet air is 30 deg C, not 50 deg C, which is cooler, & more efficient (basically)
These are just made up numbers to explain the concept simply. and yes ideally, a cross flow head would have lower inlet temps than a counterflow, but anything you can do to reduce the air inlet temp, should lead to an increase in overall effiency.

The cannister is used for emmisions! You take that out and consider yourself ****ed up the a55hole by the EPA!
If you think about it the stock box guttered completely is the best option with a panel filter.
I still have no idea what I am going to run when I get the car up and running.I'm soo euro even my missus is shaved...
