  • Spark plugs for VR6

    Hello ^_^

My dub is due for a service soon. I'm guessing the spark plugs will need to be changed (they are every service, arent they?). I've currently got NGK BKR5EKUP's in which seem fine but I'm wondering what other people use?

I have only ever used the NGK plug, being the OEM and all. Set you back about $12ea from Supercheap and the like, although they are usually an order in item.

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

      X2, have a look on Ebay.uk, they're the same as ones used BMW E36' 323 and 325's. I got a set for $35 posted 2 months back.

I thort the bosch plug was OEM? BKR5EKUP's surely arent, theyre a platinum plug and twice the cost of the other VR6 plugs on germanautoparts.com.

It'd be interested to know if theres any super dooper spark plugs out there for the VR6. Just gotta have that extra 50hp!

I've used both the platinum BKR5EkU and the standard ones.

The performance is the same - the only difference is the service intervals.

Both my VR6's had Champion plugs in them when I first purchased them. When upgrading to the 'OE' NGK on the first car, the improvement was noticeable so I stuck with them. Similarly NGK were the OE Plugs in the two 306 Pugs. They're good quality plugs and the electrodes wear very well.

          My 2c : )
