Sold this car today
Was sorry to see it go, but iut will help me keep my licence not having it.
Hopefully Peter the new owner will find his way on here and say Hi.
He lives at Taree, so its gone out into the wilds alright.

Sorry to revive this thread but..may I ask why you sold a golf this rare for only 9 grand? If i was looking to buy a car and saw that for 12 grand, i wouldnt hesitate to take it...heck, i would maybe even pay 15 grand if nothings wrong with it, and by the looks of it there isnt sorry if I'm missing out on something...

It might be rare but you have to be reasonable too. A nice vr6 these days will struggle to sell for over 10k so why should an essentially stock vr6 sell for 15k? I think the selling price was fair. Too low and its not worth the hassle to convert it, too high and uve paid 50% higher premium for two less doors.

it just doesn't loose torque all the way passed 6500rpm

yeah matt was crazy for selling this thing. it hauled assssss.

I reckon its better to list it at a reasonable price and sell it quickly than hold onto it for 6 months longer and get a little bit more money.

Its still out there and I can build another if anyone wants one.

Finally I found it Matt 's thread for MY car,Just to let everyone know i was a 23yo at the time who was a beetle nut that had a soft spot for the 2 door vr6 after searching the net for 6-9months for the best VW I could find for 15g or less,I had finally found my dream car the vr6 i never thought I'd find, Little to my knowledge it had been built by the king himself.the next day I hopped a train to Cambletown and there she was i drove her home with the biggest grin across my face that I haven't been able to remove since 1yr later,Thank you matt
