guys, don't be scared its just nuts and bolts. all the plugs can only go one way and if you remember where all the bolts you take out go then you won't have any extra crap left over! i had no idea how to do mine and neither did any one else that was around me!

Heater core replaced
Thanks for your help everything was useful. If Id got kevs dosh I would have spent it on having that done for me!! How stupid is it to put a part that expires every 10 year or so in such a dumb spot.To add to my agony I decided to fit a new roof as well.I got from convertabletopguys and if I'd waited I would have got the dollar at 77c.Its pretty good qual though around 400 landed.many search's failed to find instructions for a MK3 install but MK1 item from the UK MK1 club was ok.The one I got from the Roof guys was rubbish and cost $6 US save your money and buy a pie!
Nice to have a car with all this "open source" back up maybe we should lobby VW to make heater cores that last or put an access cover in the fire wall like my brides Saab. last I still havent sorted the Trans(auto) Its probably going to be a reco one, any tips for an exchange one?
