    Hey guys,

    sorry to irritate again...
    but i need to know

    1) Where to get BMC CDA 85-150? Ebay? the actual website does not deliver to Aus...was wondering i can get any from the stores...in case of fake ebay goods.

    2) catback...was thinking of doing an exhaust upgrade...maybe custom from hitech mufflers or westside mufflers...hmm...i am thinking of going 2.25...tag weld...anyone with any better ideas?

    3) personally...i feel there is not much low end torque..until u reach 3k rpm...anyway similar experience?

any kind of feedback is great

There's a copy of the BMC CDA induction kit @ Autobarn. Aaron (The Hawk on the forums) has one.
      Past: Mk3 Golf 2L 8V, Audi 8L A3T.
      Present: Mk3 Golf variant.

It's debatable really. It's not a huge difference. Most do it for the induction noise and better throttle response.

Here is the thread if you haven't read it lately:

My car had a definate torque punch as 3,000 and was pretty ordinary below that.

The intake + exhaust seems to have smoothed that out alot, although it's still there. (I have a 2.5" mandrel bent exhaust with resonator and muffler).

The secret is it can be a nice quiet drive under 3,000 or a bucket of fun if you keep the revs up (well mine isn't exactly quiet anytime anymore, but it's quieter... I really need to do a decent drive by video or two one day)

PS. Go into your profile and update your location so we know what area your in.

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

i just put a pod filter on mine yesterday!
wow!!! the induction roar as amazing!!!!

i haven't noticed any difference in performance increase but there is a slight difference in throttle response.

You should have routed this towards the front your not going to get anything coming off the ground besides the heat rebounding off the ground.

The only real way your going to get anything if you get cold air which is the point of a CAI.

I wouldn't bother with a BMC, a simple pod with a feed from the front will be good enough, other than noise there is not really much joy from a pod sadly.

With a 2.25 your going to get alot more down low torque rather than high torque I would do a 2.5" straight through but depends how you can handle your sound I had no rear centre box's just a single hot dog with a custom rear twin tip exhaust.

The plan was to put it into the front air dam, but the AC gear is in the way, will get round to putting it there eventually. As for hot air off the ground, even that front duct is about the same level, my intake is basically behind it, I'm just missing the push it could provide.

Still I get what you mean and will get around to it one day, saw a nice mod that I plan on trying out on that lower intake for just this application too When I get some free time to pull the bumper out again it will be done...

                    Okay..so its settled.

I will be making an appointment to the exhaust shop for later this week (sch + work = gg).

                    I have decided to go

                    1) retain my remus C-pillar axelback muffler
                    2) Magnaflow Highflow cat...300 or 500 cells?
                    3) deciding to do a resonator (hotdog) delete...i highly doubt so..don't want the car to end up like my previous civic.

                    then

                    1) Go grab a BMC CDA from autobarn..need to call for an order...
                    2) suspension...(that is another story)

                    will get pics up soon!!!!

thanks for all the feedback guys..

                    chock...

                      1. Is the cat, you can't loose that, but you can replace it with a high flow version if your keen.

                      2. Is the resonator, trust me, you want to keep one of those otherwise it's loud as all hell.

                      3. Is the suitcase muffler, it's dead, restrictive weight, loose it.

                      Any questions

                          that will be loud.

I used to have a remus back box on my vr6 and the suitcase removed. Was loud and a bit boomy under load. I ended up replacing it for a 2.5" cat back jetex system.

Keep in mind your remus is only 2.125" if its the proper mk3 one. They sound awesome but really arent the best performing.

Don't remove the suitcase without replacing it with another muffler, the noise will be great for a while, but 3 months in I am WELL over the drone below 3k, everyone hates it... Do the exhaust properly and in one go, I'll be doing mine soon once Krudd pays me !!!

Yep, I removed everything and had just straight pipe to the rear muffler and it was droney as hell, the new 2.5" system I put in has a resonator and is better, although it still has a bit of a drone, but doesn't make your ears bleed so much anymore

Again, your welcome to come round and have a look see at all the bits and pieces and how they sound.
