a must for a VR owner...but god knows what shipping would be.
what sort of price would you be looking at here to turbo a VR?
We will be importing turbo kits shortly, atm the rrp price is $5500 + for a basic 300hp kit although we are negotiating a better deal for Aus. This is a 6 psi non intercooled kit, the equivalent supercharger kit would cost close to $9k. Feel free to email me as an expression of interest and once final pricing has been negotiated you can be the first to know. The kit will come with everything
including the tune.
My own car will have a Stage 5+ kit which will have most of the R & D done.
That sounds tempting for three years time!! hehehe.
Hey noob question...with the turbo kit, does it come with ALL the parts you'd need to replace inside the engine so it can handle the induction? Ie internals...yeah sorry, like i said, noob question

Stage 1 and 2 are bolt ons, stage 3 onwards needs engine work.
Your engine should be in good nick before you do the turbo kit, otherwise it will just kill it quickly.
wat bout ecu? and ther isnt much point running boost without internals, especially head gasket cos ur just gna make a mess off it.
ECU will run a base chip , similar to N/A cars but tuned for forced induction .
6 psi boost is fine without engine mods , stage 2 is intercooled with a bit more boost .
What you need to keep in check are the intake air temps . The VR6 runs a fairly strong composite head gasket , as was mentioned earlier , the engine should be in good condition before you go forced induction , if the rings dont seal you'll get a lot of blowby . The rods/pistons are strong enough to take a fair bit of boost before needing replacement .
When you say a mess , what exactly are you refering too ?
